Privacy policy

Contracting Connect is operated by Solid Contract Solutions Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we hold, why we hold it, and the rights you have over it under UK GDPR. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

If you register as a contractor:

• Your name, email address and, if you provide them, your phone number, region, base postcode and day rate.
• The qualifications you record: the scheme, card or registration number, issue and expiry dates.
• Your date of birth, but only where a scheme's official register requires it to confirm a ticket (currently EUSR).
• Any evidence you upload, such as a photograph of a card or certificate.
• Messages you send and receive through the platform.

If you are a hiring company, we collect your name, work email, company name and billing details. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Why we use it

• To match you to roles that require the qualifications you actually hold, in date.
• To confirm a qualification against the issuing body's official register.
• To remind you before a ticket expires.
• To let companies and contractors message each other about work.
• To take payment from subscribing companies, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Our lawful basis is performance of a contract for the core service, and legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention and service improvement. Where we need your consent, such as checking your record against an official register, we ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.

What companies can see

Until you evidence a gateway qualification you are not visible in search at all. Once you are, companies can see your display name, trade, region, travel distance, availability, day rate and which qualifications you hold and whether they are in date.

Companies never see your card or registration numbers, your date of birth, or the evidence files you upload. Those are visible only to you and to our verification team.

Who we share it with

• Supabase, for database, authentication and file storage hosting.
• Vercel, for website hosting.
• Stripe, for subscription payments from companies.
• Resend, to send transactional email such as expiry reminders.
• The awarding bodies whose registers we check, where you have asked us to confirm a qualification.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. If you delete your account we remove your profile, qualifications, uploaded evidence and messages within 30 days, except where we must keep records longer to meet a legal obligation, such as accounting records for company subscriptions.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from your profile page. For anything else, contact us at the address below.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted by row-level security so one user cannot read another's records, and uploaded evidence is held in private storage reachable only by you and our verification team.
